What's in a name?

The Latin word cardinalis translates to “essential,” a meaning that lies at the heart of our mission. Through both our artistic work and our commitment to educating and developing professional musicians, we strive to create experiences that are meaningful, transformative, and enduring.

In a world often marked by division and uncertainty, music has the power to ask important questions, foster healing, inspire connection, and illuminate the shared human experience. We believe this work is not simply valuable, it is essential.
